Neighborhood Historic Preservation Grants Program now open to more projects

Did you know that OMHS offers up to $10,000 in grants each year for neighborhood historic preservation projects? The program has been updated for 2008 so that grants are now available for the repair and/or restoration of a landmarks-compliant exterior feature. That means grants can now be had for projects like repointing bricks, painting clapboard siding and repairing wood windows along with projects like replacing vinyl windows or vinyl siding. This change meets the need of the growing number of restored homes in the neighborhood requiring maintenance, which is generally more expensive because of the nature of the materials. Applications are reviewed twice a year - once in April and once in September. The application is simple! Check it out here: http://www.trentonmillhill.org/omhs_members/?page_id=76

Website Committee Monthly Update - August 2007

The last meeting of the Website Committee was held on Monday, July 30, at Christa and Martin Eastgate’s house.  In attendance were Michael Goldstein, Andy Nolting, Kelley Nolting, Martin Eastgate, and Christa Eastgate.  At this meeting, we worked on the following items:

  • Revision of content in site
  • Wikipedia article entry - now LIVE!
  • On-line tickets sales (still awaiting Executive Committee approval)
  • How to increase usership on Members’ site

Our next meeting will be near the end of July, and we will be finishing up revisions on the site and hopefully establishing on-lilne ticket sale procedures.

As a committee, we firmly believe we have developed some new and exciting fora for Mill Hill residents.  We would really love to see people fully utilizing these new utilities, so PLEASE COMMENT AND POST ON THIS SITE.

Cheers!
