Transportation Trenton is ideally located within the eastern seaboard. It is within easy commuting distance of New York and Philadelphia, while Baltimore and Washington are comfortable day trips on AMTRAK or by car. The Jersey shore is less than an hour away (see "Playing"). Easy weekend destinations include the Hamptons, Vermont's rural countryside, Martha's Vineyard, the Poconos, Catskills, and Adirondacks mountain ranges, Cape May, and many other fantastic destinations. The regional map in this section can provide you a visual idea of Trenton's proximity to other major cities in the area. As a gateway to numerous destinations, Trenton has easy access to major train networks, highway and interstate travel, and international and domestic airports. Mill Hill is in a particularly wonderful location within the city because it is only a 5-minute walk from the Trenton Train Station. Traveling by car Trenton is close to many major roads, linking Central New Jersey to New York City, the Jersey shore, Philadelphia, and regions beyond. Mill Hill is nestled between US 1 and NJ-29, both major thoroughfares in the region, allowing for easy commutes in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania by car. Interstates 95 and 195, US 206, the New Jersey Turnpike, the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway are also easily accessible from Trenton. Many roads in this area, including tunnels and bridges going in and out of the New York City area, charge tolls for the use of the road. Almost every toll authority on the eastern seaboard allows drivers to use EZ Pass to pay tolls. Often times, there are lanes specifically dedicated to cars with EZ Pass, allowing drivers to avoid traffic at tolls. |

Traveling by plane From Trenton, both Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) are accessible in less than an hour by car (depending on traffic)and in less than two hours by train. Both airports offer daily international flights to major areas throughout the world. Trenton's regional Trenton-Mercer Airport (TTN) offers daily direct flights to Boston and Atlanta and is a quick car ride from Mill Hill. |
